ICT semester 1 summary

In ICT, I will be reviewing with you what I have been learning in ICT during terms 1 and 2.

Term 1

During weeks 2 and 3, we have been learning about cyber safety, and the things we did were make a kahoot, complete a typing.com course, and play a game called interland.

In week 4, we began using a tool called 'Microsoft Word' which is like docs and one of the features we used in word was 'copy and paste' 'spellcheck' 'heading' and 'search and replace'.

During weeks 5-6, we have been learning how to manage files and move between files and folders. We also learnt how to replace words with symbols.

In weeks 7 to 11, we used a new feature in word called 'drawing' which is similar to google drawing, and we used this feature to recreate posters and make basic designs.

Term 2

In weeks 1 to 3, we learnt how to create and use tables, diagrams, text boxes, and columns in word.

In weeks 4 and 5 we used a new tool named 'publisher'. It is similar to google slides and we used it to make greeting cards and calendars.

In weeks 6-8, we learnt a new tool called 'excel'. It is similar to google sheets and one of the main features we used was 'auto sum', which allowed us to add the sum of numbers in multiple cells. we also made charts using excel and the data we had put in.

My review of the tools I used during this class: I quite liked using word as it was similar to google docs which I use quite often. I didn't really like publisher as I will never make a greeting card or calendar. I also enjoyed excel because it was interesting using the different codes to make answers.
